Seekonk School Committee weighs $75,000 grant and strategic plan

Seekonk’s School Committee is scheduled to consider accepting a $75,000 Department of Elementary and Secondary Education ICP Implementation Grant and approving a strategic-plan outline at its 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28 meeting, according to an amended agenda posted by the district.

The agenda also lists a first reading of the FY2028 budget calendar and second readings of four policies, including the sexual-harassment policy and policies covering the school committee-superintendent relationship and superintendent role and contract. Members are scheduled to hear updates from the superintendent, school-business administrator and student representatives.

The meeting is listed for Seekonk High School’s library/media center, 261 Arcade Ave. After public comment and other business, the committee plans to enter executive session to discuss nonunion contract negotiations and collective-bargaining strategy with the Seekonk Educators’ Association. The agenda says members will not return to open session. These are proposed agenda items, not decisions; no vote results are yet available.
